"Well I don't think we're the problem."

Jirou randomly stated while eating her salad.

"What?" Denki asked, Jirou nodded to a table across the Cafeteria.

"There's the prick, he's not with Aiko like he usually is."

Neito Monoma was eating at a table with a few guys from class 1-b. He seemed to be laughing and joking around but he was constantly searching the cafeteria. His blue eyes scanning the sea of other students, looking for one in particular.

"Do you think they're fighting?" Denki asked, staring at the guy.

"Maybe, i haven't seen either of them in caf since that day at the library. I always assumed they sat together." Jirou shrugged.

Denki clapped and laughed loudly. "You said it! You said Caf!"

Jirou looked away. "No I didn't." She lied, embarrassed about her slip up.

"Yes you did-" Denki looked over at Monoma who's eyes had landed on their table. He was looking at each person sitting at it, obviously checking to see if Aiko was with them.  Denki sent him a dark glare once Monoma's eyes landed on him specifically. Monoma glared back and then looked down at his food.
"Weirdo." Denki mumbled, eating his food.

"Well she's definitely not in here, I'm done. You guys wanna walk around before class and see if we can find her?" Jirou suggested standing up.

"Sure!"

Aiko's plan of hiding in the bathroom didn't exactly work out.

"Sup kiddo! Whatcha doing?" Mic asked passing Aiko in the hallway while she was on the way to the bathroom.

"Uh... Nothing?" Aiko said with a frown.

"Yo Aren't you gonna vibe in the caf? They got some mega tasty chicken tenders down there!"
He said with a smile as though Aiko could understand what the actual fuck he was saying.

"Uh... No?" She said, tilting her head.

"Woah! What happened to your face muchacha?! You're busted up!" He said once Aiko tilted her head towards him. Her hair moving to the side.

'Is he talking about my bruises or my puffy eyes. Damn I sure hope they're done swelling.'

"It was just training yesterday." Aiko told him with a shrug. "I'm fine now."

"Ah! That's cool! How'd you do?" He asked.

'Not to be rude, but why is this guy still talking to me? I just wanted to eat my lunch in peace. In a stall in the girls bathroom, next to a trashcan full of used tampons.' Aiko deadpanned at her own thoughts.

"Fine I guess, I mean I technically lost because I used my quirk. But I think I did okay." Aiko mumbled.

"Cool!" He said enthusiastically. "Hey, if you don't mind me asking... Were you about to eat that in the bathroom?" He pointed down at her brown paper bag.

"Uh..." Aiko looked at it too. Like she just remembered she was holding it.

'Damn it, stop showing concern for my mental wellbeing and social life! You're supposed to turn a blindeye to this like most teachers!'
She complained.

"No?" She lied in a totally unconvincing way. It sounded more like a question she was asking herself than a confident answer.

"Can I ask... What's going on with your friends? I thought you and that one group were tight! But it seems like you've been avoiding them." Mic said with actual concern. His voice dropped all slang and started to sound serious and empathetic.

"What? No I uh... It's kinda complicated! I just uh... Well I did something they told me not to do. They told me it was stupid and I didn't listen and... They were right, it was stupid and it ended horribly and I don't know how to face them now..." Aiko glanced up.

"But it's whatever! I'll be fine! Totally! Don't worry about me!" Aiko realized she'd slightly over shared with her teacher, her wide hand movements and pauses indicated she was stressed and nervous.

"Well if you ever need someone to talk to, UA has a guidance counselor you can speak with. Also I really hope you're not talking about drugs bec-"

"No! God no it's not drugs!" Aiko interrupted him before he could start his: 'drugs aren't cool' speech. "A-and I already have a therapist so I don't need to see the UA guidance counselor! Trust me I'm fine! Totally cool bro!" Aiko laughed nervously.

'God I'm a wreak.'

"Alright, well if you want to eat somewhere other than the Cafeteria you can chill in one of the teacher's lounges. The only people who use the one on this floor is me and Sho- Mr Aizawa and he won't care! He's probably asleep actually!" Mic smiled brightly. "Plus You can have some Coffee!"

"Uh... Yeah sure... I could use some coffee."

Aiko took a few deep breaths before entering class-B. As per tradition, she snuck in just a minute or two before the bell. Vlad king was already in there but fortunately Aiko wasn't the only student still not in. Unfortunately 'you know who' was already in his seat. Staring Aiko down, waiting for her to look at him.

Which she promptly avoided. Never glancing in his direction. "Zhu." Aiko turned in the direction of Vlad's gruff voice. Thankful for a distraction.

He pointed to his own face and made a circle motion. "Is that from training?" He asked, referencing her injuries.

'Yeah I definitely need to stop by recovery girl's office and get rid of these. I'm getting way too much attention.'

"Uh, yes sir?" Aiko answered nervously. 'Please just let me sit down.'

"See, this is what all of you should look like after training! The reason class one A is so far ahead is because they train hard!" Vlad lectured his class.

Aiko stood there stiffly, waiting for him to finish using her as an example. 'Is he really Telling them to get injured more often?! And what does he mean we're ahead? I didn't know we were graded on training. Oh who am I kidding, of course were graded on training! This is UA for fucks sake.'

"Yes sir." The class droned, clearly bored with what he was saying.

Aiko walked to her seat quickly, sitting down and staring straight ahead. Trying to not look at Monoma, even though her was burning hole in her back with his stare.

"You okay?" Kendo asked, leaning closer to Aiko.

"Uh, yeah! Yeah I'm fine! It's just a few bruises, I'll be alright by tomorrow." Aiko said with a smile. Even though someone asking her 'Are you okay' made her want to cry and throw up at the same time.

"Well good, but... I didn't mean the bruises. You seem... Off, is there something bothering you?" Kendo asked gently.

'Don't you dare cry.'

Aiko just shook her head. She knew it wasn't going to convince Kendo. But she also knew that if she said anything out loud she was going to cry like a baby. Kendo looked at Aiko in concern, noticing that Aiko's eyes seemed watery and that her bottom lip was trembling before she bit it down. Kendo immediately knew that Aiko was about to cry, or at least would if she pushed it. So she didn't say anything else. She knew how shy Aiko was and how humiliated she'd feel if she broke down in front of everyone.

Aiko was thankful that Kendo didn't say anything else, the redhead just reached over and comfortingly held Aiko's hand. Aiko stared at their hands as Kendo's pale fingers wrapped around Aiko's own tan hand.

For a moment she forgot all about Monoma.

But only for a moment, because after giving her hand a small squeeze Kendo pulled her own back, and sat straight in her chair as class started. Aiko didn't look away from her hand. The hand that now felt very cold without Kendo's.

Aiko spent that entire class missing Kendo's touch, and after it was over she jumped out of her seat. And so did Monoma. Aiko heard it but ignored the sound of his chair flying back and bumping the desk behind his.

"Hey Aiko!"

The voice wasn't Monoma's, his words were caught in his throat. No it was a feminine voice that belonged to Kendo. "Let me walk you to the nurses office! We have a break in-between classes!" Kendo said, touching Aiko's arm.

Aiko's cheeks tinted pink slightly at the contact. But it wasn't noticable yet. "Yeah sure! Let's go!" Aiko grabbed Kendo's wrist and pulled her out of the classroom, trying to avoid Monoma.

The two girls walked through the halls, Aiko forgot that she was still loosely holding Kendo's wrist. After a few quiet moments Kendo spoke. "So... Are you actually okay? What's the matter?"

Aiko shyly looked away. "N-nothing... I'm fine." She lied.

"You don't have to tell me what's the matter, I'm just worried I guess. Last time you acted like this was..." Kendo didn't finish, she didn't need to. Aiko knew she was talking about that day she lost her temper and told her she didn't want to be friends. That she didn't want to see her again. Only to come crawling back, sobbing and asking for forgiveness.

Man, middle school was rough.

"I... It's... Complicated, it's just. A guy, you know?" Aiko glanced over at Kendo who smiled warmly.

"Oh, I guess that makes sense. Are you and him talking?" Kendo asked innocently.

"No we... We were together but he uh... He cheated and it's got me all... Upset." Aiko sighed, rubbing her face with her hands. "I just feel crappy."

Kendo wrapped her arms around Aiko. The slightly shorter girl blushed furiously at the contact. At her arms wrapping around her. At her chest pressing against Kendo's. "Aiko, it sounds like he definitely doesn't deserve you. I know it might be hard but you should move on from him." Kendo pulled back and Aiko rubbed her eyes.

"Yeah... I know..." She whispered.

"If you ever need someone to talk to you can come to me. I promise I'll always be there for you Aiko."

Aiko nodded, feeling her tears come back again. Her lip trembled and her hands shook as she started to cry again. "T-thanks."

Kendo pulled Aiko back into a hug. "Hey it's alright, come on. Let's get you to the bathroom, so you can clean up."
