Finding A Home

Elizabeth’s P.O.V

I rode around for, well until it had started getting dark. Opps. But, thats how long it took me to calm down. I made my way back as the moon started to get into the sky. I was greeted by the head of the orphanage. She looked happy. ‘Thats not good. Really not good for me.’ I thought, suddenly scared. “Elizabeth, somebody's here to see you.”

I looked at her, really hoping it wasn't the cops. I had been out way past curfew. “They said that they would like to adopt you. The paper works done and everything, all you have to do is get your bags! Everythings all packed up already!” I heard everything she had said, but I was frozen. Somebody wanted to adopt me? For real? Who? My question was soon answered by the sighting of a certain blond head.

“No. Way.” Was all I could say. It was Mr. Eyebrows.

“Hello Elizabeth.” He said happily.

“Nope. I am not getting adopted by my teacher. That is so not happening!” I said. He sighed, almost like he expected that reaction from me. “Now that that's settled, I’m going to my room. I guess I have some unpacking to do.” I began to walk toward the stairs before being yanked back by the head of the orphanage.

She began to pull me out the door before opening the door to a car and practically throwing me in. I watched partly in shock as she went back in and got my luggage before putting it in the trunk. “Sorry about that Mr.Kirkland.” She apologized, “She’s always like that.” Mr. Eyebrows, which now I think I may  have to call him something different that he is legally my guardian(Weird), just smiled awkwordlyish, he probably hadn't seen that coming either.

It all seemed settled that I was going, but being me I wouldn't give up until the last minute. Now, I know I should have been happy. I was getting adopted. But, I didn't want to be adopted by this guy. I looked down at Johnny who was still in my lap and got an idea. I was going to fight this until the very last second. I got ready to jump out the car and start riding. Only, one thing got in my way. I jiggled the door handle. It wouldn't open. He had the child safety lock on. Of course he did. I face palmed and buckled myself in. I was out of ideas.

He climbed in the drivers seat. I could see the head waving as we pulled away.

Head’s P.O.V

I sighed as they pulled away. Thank God someone finally took the girl. For a while, I thought I’d have to deal with Elizabeth forever. I went inside, happily humming to myself.

Elizabeth’s P.O.V

The ride went by in silence. Neither of us had much to say, so all I did was stare out the window. I thought about pranking the head hard. All I needed was some T.P, maybe a few eggs. I almost smiled thinking about it, though I’d wait the few months until Halloween.

Before I knew it, my door was being opened for me. I slowly slid out. I noticed two things. First, the yard was beautiful. It was nice and green, the grass was well trimmed. There were a few smaller trees, still fit for climbing but  not so big that you would get seriously hurt if you fall maybe a few small scrapes and bruises. Along with the trees, a few flowers grew here and there.

Secondly, the house looked huge. It was a dusty yellow with white trim and it looked really tall. Judging from the windows, it looked around three stories. I didn't even think that there were houses that big around here.

Artie, thats what I decided to call him now, laughed a little at my pause before taking my luggage out of the trunk and walking in. I shook my head to clear it before following him in. “You can pick whatever bedroom you want, Elizabeth.”, he said putting my luggage down. “Mine’s at the end of the hall on the second floor.” I nodded.

‘Well, now I know where not to have my room anywhere near.’ I thought as I moved up the stairs. I looked around the rooms on the second floor. I didn't really want one on the third, seemed like too many stairs to climb every morning.

“When you pick one out you can start unpacking!” Arttie yelled up after me. I just rolled my eyes, that seemed like the “no duh” thing to do. All the rooms were pretty much the same, there were four bedrooms including Artie’s, and I went with the biggest. It. Had. Its. Own. Bathroom. Well, technically, it was connected to room next to it, but that room was currently uninhabited so it was like it had its own bathroom. I dropped my luggage down on my bed, which was also fairly large.
