I Can T Tell You
Jennie's P. O. V. We hid this room, I choose this table to cover ourselves. This girl from the other department is nervous as hell. She's trembling and crying so hard. I covered her mouth to tell her to be quiet because of she does a lot of noise, it will be the end of us. I held my breath when this man who's carrying a gun passes by us. He's walking slowly on our place. I crossed my fingers and pray, I don't know what gotten into my mind that I accepted what that ghost requested. She'll be the cause of my death, seriously. "Come on girls. I won't hurt you, we will just play" He laugh evily. I looked on the door frame and saw this ghost passed through the wall. She put her index finger on my lips to tell me to keep quiet. Honestly, she doesn't look like a ghost. If you look at her intently, you would though that she's just a normal person but when she moves, you can tell that she's a ghost. Other than she can pass through the wall, there's no footsteps at all. I shut my eyes and catch my breath. This girl sobs which made the man alarmed. My nervousness went wilder when his other companions came inside. I don't know what is the name of this ghost but.. as far as I remember, she mentioned Nala? Yeah Nala. She looked around and can see that she's in panic. "Don't go out" She said and headed on our place. "I can hear you.. " He said and stop right in front of us. I covered my mouth and felt a tear escape from my eyes. This girl buried her face on my shoulder and grip on my arm. I shook her hand a bit and she looked at me. "Be ready. You have to run, there's no way you can stay here" Nala said while eyeing on them. "I'll shoot you dead if you won't come out" The other man wearing a green jacket saidI was surprised when this man in front of us, peek under the table. He has a red widened eyes. We both screamed and I don't have choice but to use my foot to kick him, he fell on the floor while touching his chest. "Run!" Nala yelled. I let this girl run first before I do. I glance at my back and saw the other two, looked on our direction. They aimed their guns which made my eyes bawl out. "Lower down your body!" Nala said which I did. The gunshot has been heard and I guess the bullets hit the wall beside me. We run out of the office and I heard footsteps from them. This girl was about to get in the elevator but I pull her towards the fire exit. The elevator was still in the roof deck if we wait for it, maybe before it arrive, we're all dead of gunshots. "Let's use fire exit" I said and run towards it. I closed the door first but I have no time to lock it because I saw them running towards us. I was startled when they fire their gun again. I froze on my spot when I saw a whole in front of me, it's inches away from my body. Maybe if I move forward, I'll be bathing on my own blood. "Get them!" "Jennie! What the hell are you thinking? Come on!" I snapped out on my thoughts when I heard Nala shouted on me. I run downstairs and saw the girl ahead of me. I gazed up and saw the criminals following us. "Just keep your eye on your way and put your head down!" She reminded me. "Why would I put my head down?!" I yelled at her as I run as fast as I can. "Just do what I told you!""I-" I didn't finish my words when another firing has been released. I scream and covered my head. "That's why I told you to lower down your head" She said, she's running behind me. After minutes of running down the stairs, we reached the lobby. I tried to open the door but it's locked! "Let us out!" I shouted and hit the door really hard. "Damn it" I heard Nala cussed, we both looked up and heard the criminals footstep. "Let us out please! We're in danger!" I shouted again, I used my feet to kick it hard but it's useless. This girl didn't do anything other than crying. She's so scared. When I saw that man's hand on the railings, my heart beats frantically because of nervousness. I don't wanna die. I shouldn't accept this stupidity. I want to have a family and travel around the world! I close my eyes and pray. This is not the end of us please. "Hey, this way. We have to use the parking area" Nala said.I went alive when I remembered the parking lot. I hold the girl's hand and run behind the stairs where I saw another door. We're lucky that it's unlocked. We run as fast as we can, nobody's around and it made me afraid more. "Here" Nala said and pointed the corner where three cars blocked our sight. We hide beside the car and hold our breaths. "Where the hell are they?" Someone speak. I looked at Nala and she's nodding her head, feels like she's telling me that everything's alright. I heard how the steps become loud, they're getting nearer. "Don't come out" She reminded me and peek out. I gazed down the car and saw his shoes, Oh God. Not again. I don't want to run anymore. "I won't think twice and I'll shoot you both!" I looked at this girl and covered her mouth again. She's about to cry, what the hell. Her cries won't do anything other than it will put us in danger. As he's getting nearer, we all heard a police car outsids the building. "Someone asked for help" Nala said. "Geez, those stupid policemen are here" A man said, not so far from us. "Let's go. We have to go boss" I heard three steps closer to us and quickly stop. He hissed and turned his back. "I'll come back and I swear that girl with you will be hang dead" They run on the other direction and we stayed there until they're completely gone. "They're gone now, you're safe" Nala said that made me breathe out. "We are safe.. Let's go outside" I said and dragged her outside the building where we saw a lot of people. There are a lot of reporters outside and this girl with me, run to the police officer for I don't know why. "I heard that they will ask for an interview with this gurl who pushed the alarm system" My eyes widened when this group of men passes by me. I hid my face and turned my back, I know they're pertaining to me. I walked away in my fast pace while my head was down. I caused a big trouble. "Hey miss! Miss!" This girl was calling me but I didn't bother to look back. I force myself to get out of the crowd and hide in the small alley. I lean my back on it and slowly took my seat, curled my knees and started crying. "Why are you crying?" Nala asked me.
---Nala's P. O. V. "I want to be a detective. I want to pursue it" "Stop with your dream, you should take business course or a professor because you're the only child I have. No one's gonna take my position as a CEO in our business" "But I don't want to. That's my dream" "No. Can't you see what's happening to the detectives out there? They're slowly dying because of their vicious work and investigation. What do you want to happen? Huh?" "I'll take it either way" "No. You'll take what I told you and if you didn't, you may leave the house"
"I'm asking you" I snapped out of my thoughts when Jennie speak beside me. We're on our way home after she broke down in tears earlier, she doesn't want to go to work because she knows that she'll get interviewed. "Huh?" I pretended that I didn't hear her question. "Who are you? Where you came from?" She asked, I know this will come. Of cours, who wouldn't ask for someone's name who's bugging you. "I told you, I'm Nala" I replied. "You don't look like.. Korean" She said. "I'm not Korean but I used to visit this place for some sort of business" I told "So how are you?""What's you job?"I looked on our way and put my hands inside my pocket "Well.. I was.. I was a professor" I shortly replied and I heard her hummed. "What was the cause of your death? Why me? Why you always bothering me? It's affecting my daily life and work" We can freely talk since there's no one around us. She went inside her apartment first and followed her. "It's an accident. Someone knocked me off and about your question, I didn't know that you could see my soul. I grabbed the chance, maybe you're the appointed person that will help me through my mission" I stated, she turned her back and looked at me with confusion. "Mission? What are you talking about?" She scoffed and made her way towards the refrigerator to drink water "I can't help you""I need to find this group, I only have short time and I don't want to waste it" I explained. "Group? You can find it easily because you can roam around the City without thinking of accidents, money and such" She chuckle and drink her water. "Only if I could do it on my own, I will. We need to catch them and put them in their right place" I tried to explain it to her but it seems like she's thinking that I was fooling her. I don't much time to argue with her, I wasted almost two days without any good results. "What are the benefits that I will receive if I help you? Besides, I didn't know that ghost still has a mission before they go to heaven or hell?" She laugh softly and put the glass on the sink. "You can save everyone, every victims can get the justice they wanted" I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are their names? I'll search it on the internet, come on. So everything will be done in one day and you can get out of my sight" I sigh and massage my temple "I don't know as well. There are a lot but I only know what name are they in" I seriously said. She took her seat on the couch and raise her eyebrow to me "What? Come on, you're wasting my time" "It's a black market. I know you know this because you're on the right age to know this" I uttered. She looked atme without any expression and laugh. She clap her hands and hold her tummy. "What's funny?" "I couldn't believe that you're still i to black market?? Hello we're living in 21st century. There's no black market anymore. You know what? You're just making fun of me and it's not funny" She rolled her eyes and went back to the kitchen to cook for a meal. I heave a sigh and throw myself on the couch "Just believe me Jennie, I'm begging you" "No. There's no case of black market here in Korea, you should know about it" She muttered. I explained everything that I need to explain but she's rejecting every statement that I threw on her. I don't know how to deal with this. I hope the collecter will show up to give me advice with this. I'm running out of time.
"I'll pay you once we made it" I said that cause her to laugh. "What money you'll use? A ghost money?" She cackle and looked at me seriously "Look here babe, when I said no.. It's a No. I have a lot of things to do, important things" She emphasized.
I didn't answer and heave a sigh as I look down on the floor. Geez, collecter what did you do?
---As Nala was still trying to pursue Jennie, her body was lying peacefully on thr hospital bed with oxygen and electroencephalogram. She's breathing fine and heart beats are normal, looks like she's just sleeping and resting. Her Mom caress her hand and kiss it, she's crying all night whenever she's seeing Nala's face. She has head injury and some fractures that her mom never imagine that could happen. "Stay strong Lisa.. Your Dad will be here tomorrow" She whispered. The door widely open and revealed Nala's supposed to be fiance but the latter disagreed on the fixed marriage. "Mom" She called her. "Oh Minnie.. " Nala's mom hug her and her eyes started to get teary "You're here.. ""I'm sorry for being late.. I had photoshoot in California. What happened to her?" She asked and went beside her, she took Nala's hand and kiss it "I'm here Lisa.. I won't leave you"
---"$20 Ma'am" Jisoo said when she scanned the foods that the customer bought. She gave the change afterwards. It's a tiring day for her because there were a lot of customers throughout the day. She took her seat and lean her back while thinking. "Just rest, I'll do this" The girl named, Tiffany said. "No. I-" Jisoo didn't finish her words when her phone vibrated, she took it out and saw unknown number calling her. She furrowed her eyebrows and stood up from her seat before she answer it "Hello? Who's this?""Is this Jisoo? Jisoo right?""Yes it's me. Why? Who's this?""I'm your neighbor, your house is burning right now. Your Mom and siblings are inside while your Dad found dead outside.. "The Lady who was on the other line was still talking but Jisoo's hand started to fall down as her tears started to build up. "Are you okay?" Tiffany asked her.
Jisoo took the jacket on the chair and swiftly run out of the store. She run as fast as she can until she found a cab near her, she hurriedly hop inside and tell the direction which is 1 and half hour away from her place.
