"Ah! Nezu!"A man with a huge smile and thick military uniform said. Strutting up when he saw the principal of UA high walk into his office."It's always a pleasure my friend." He greeted, scooping the well dressed mouse-man creature into his arms in a hug. "I didn't realize you were coming this year! If I had known of your visit I would have organized everyone.""My apologies Principal Raze. I hadn't been planning on it but... Well your students always do so well at UA. I was thinking of extending scholarships to one or two again. If any catch my eye." The mouse man said. He had a suit on over his shiny white coat, a scar crossed over a beady black eye."Of course!!" The commander and fellow principal said with a grin. He had a little bit of an accent, one that was difficult to place. And extremely short blonde hair. "At this hour the students are in their rooms at ease after the days final drills. But it will take less than half an hour to have them all in full dress standing in formation!"Commander Raze was the principal of Junshi academy. Japan's only co-ed middle school military academy. Him and the principal of UA, Japan's best hero course academy were close knit friends. Having worked together several times."Oh there no need for that. I'd rather skim through their files for now, see if any catch my eye. But if you could organize the records of your graduating classes that would be wonderful!" He smiled happily."Of course! Can I get you anything to drink?" The commander asked, pulling several files from his drawers."Tea would be lovely, thank you."⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘"Now wait..." Nezu said. Looking through the papers provided. Records of the graduating classes. He was on the final class, working through every file. Pulling those that peaked his interest. He stopped at a certain one.The picture was of a girl, she had red hair slicked back military style in a bun. Freckles over her pale skin and grey eyes. But that wasn't what caught his attention."Nova... Kurayami?" Nezu looked up at Raze. "As in... Rikko Kurayami?" He questioned. There was no way it wasn't. The resemblance was uncanny.Raze looked at the paper and nodded. "Yeah, his daughter apparently.""Remarkable! Why didn't you tell me you had her here?" Nezu asked. Seemingly giddy.Raze raised an eyebrow. "Didn't realize you'd be interested in the daughter of a villain.""Who wouldn't be?!" Nezu looked over the page carefully.×××𝙺𝚞𝚛𝚊𝚢𝚊𝚖𝚒, 𝙽𝚘𝚟𝚊𝚊𝚐𝚎: 14𝚑𝚝: 166𝚌𝚖𝚀𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚔: 𝙼𝚎𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚜 (𝚖𝚎𝚝𝚊𝚕 𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚙𝚞𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗)𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚛𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚜𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚘𝚕𝚜: 𝙽𝚎𝚠𝚙𝚘𝚛𝚝 𝙴𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚛𝚢 𝚜𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚘𝚕 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚋𝚕𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚑 (𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚍𝚞𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚍)𝙰𝚕𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚊 𝚓𝚛 𝚑𝚒𝚐𝚑 (𝚎𝚡𝚙𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚍)

The girl had somehow managed to be expelled from five schools before the end of middle school. Not only that, but she's spent time in juvie as well."That's why I didn't think to mention her. Not exactly our top student." Raze shrugged. "Though she hasn't gotten in much trouble since she's been here.""And her quirk... Is it the same as her father?" Nezu asked, looking at the information."Yep. As far as we know." Raze shrugged. "But we didn't have records on his quirk. All we know is what we observed from his fights.""That's true... She must be quite strong.""We don't do quirk training here at Junshi. So she doesn't have much experience with it." Raze explained. "You're actually interested in this kid? Out of all of them?""Of course I am. I mean a quirk like hers... She'd make a great pro hero." Nezu copied the file. "I'd like to have an interview with her. If you don't mind."Raze chuckled. "Knock yourself out. But she probably isn't the heroic type. I mean you know who her father is.""Hm... Yes I do. But I don't think that should limit her." Nezu said with a big smile. "She deserves the same opportunity as everyone else.""Maybe... I don't trust her though." Raze shrugged. "You know what they say... The apple never falls far from the tree."⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘If you had told Nova Kurayami that one day she'd be freely standing in front of UA high, ready to take the entrance exam. She wouldn't have believed it.But here she was.Her fingertips were raw from her nervous biting. She has paused at the gate. Not sure... If she could actually go in or not. What if it snapped shut? She's heard UA had an excellent security system... What if it saw her and knew who she was? What if it didn't let her in?No. The Principal of the school personally invited her. There was no way she'd get locked out... Right? But what if it was a mistake? What if he regretted it now... It had been months since he extended the offer... Surely he thought better of it now.She took a breath and stepped in. Bracing herself for the door to snap shut like the jaws of some type of monster...But they didn't... They let Nova through without question. She let out that breath. Walking in, clinching the straps of her backpack. This was it, she was actually doing it. Walking in the UA campus. Never in her life had she ever expected to be here. She always assumed she'd end up in a crappy highschool, or maybe another military school. Or even a drop out. She never thought she'd have an opportunity like this...But here it was. She had to take it.Sure Nova never really wanted to be a hero. Or rather she assumed that it would never actually be a possibility for her. Unlike most students here this wasn't a big dream come true... Nova wasn't a dreamer. She didn't have big aspirations in life, in reality she was just trying to survive.UA was a ticket to survival. Going to a prestigious school like this would make her look better. All she had to do was squeak through highschool, probably getting in a general studies class and then move away. Far from Japan. Go to another country where her father wasn't known. Where her name would just be that... A name. She walked in, feeling extreme imposter syndrome. She didn't deserve this, she didn't belong here. But she has to take advantage of this while she still could, before everyone else found out she was out of place.Nova glanced around, checking to see if anyone was looking at her. She didn't see anyone staring, which was good. She looked at the other girls around her, in pretty school uniforms with skirts. Her own was the uniform from Junshi, so it resembled a standard military uniform. With pixelated camouflage and combat boots. Her hair pulled back in a bun.She was looking forward to a change in uniform. With less regulations. The idea of having her natural curls back to their formal glory made Nova want to melt with happiness. She wouldn't have to gel it back anymore, when she got into UA.If she got in.Nezu had offered her a scholarship. On the condition that... She passed the entrance exam like every other student. If she did she wouldn't have to pay anything for her education here. While it wasn't that expensive all things considered, most students had to pay for their uniforms and books and lunches and for any extra courses. Like the hero classes they would take.Nova was getting an opportunity to skip all of that. According to Nezu it was a program installed for promising young people from low income families. Anyone could apply, if they were poor enough.Considering the fact that Nova literally had no money to her name... She was pretty poor.Nova entered and quietly gave her information to a man at the front desk. "Name and middle school?" He asked lazily. Running through the same interaction he had with hundreds of examinees.Nova bit her lip nervously. "Um... Kurayami, Nova. From Junshi..." She muttered, keeping her voice down. The once bored looking man slowly looked up at her. She knew the look, it was a mixture of confusion and shock. "Pardon?" He asked, clearing his throat. Making sure he heard correctly."K-kurayami, Nova. Junshi middle school." She repeated a little louder. Hoping she wouldn't have to say it again. She glanced around at the crowd of students giving their information. He stared at her. Taking in her appearance, Nova shuffled nervously as his eyes went from her own, then to her hair, then to the piercings in her ears and nose. She looked like a trouble maker. To make matters worse she looked like her father. He then looked back at his screen, then at the printer as it spat out her card. Accepting her identity with little to no question."Um... Have a seat in section D... The seat number is on your card." He said, clearing his throat again."Thanks." Nova took it and practically ran away. She hates interactions like that. The looks people gave her. All because of a stupid name. She wished she could change it. But she wasn't eighteen and obviously didn't have the permission of a legal guardian. Her own guardian wouldn't ever think of letting her change it. She saw it as rightful punishment. That the world deserved to know who she was.Nova sat down in her seat, looking at her card. She was in the back row in the farthest section to the right. She was glad she didn't have to force her way through a crowd to find her seat. She wasn't the only person from her school there, sitting with five other students wearing the same uniform. She didn't recognize any of them though, they were all from different classes. Her card had a letter for whatever battle area she was supposed to be in, and pictures of several robots. She looked around the crowd, trying to keep her head down while looking up with her eyes. There were hundreds of other applicants. Other students. The auditorium was absolutely swarmed with them. All these kids were talented... All of them wanted... To be heroes. If Nova got in... Would she be stealing that dream from someone else? She could give it up... Another applicant could have the chance of a lifetime...She shook her head. No she couldn't think like that. This was important, it was her future too. Her survival. She had to do this...She could always just barely squeeze by. Get into general studies and live easy. Let someone else take a spot in the hero course. The lights dimmed. Nova stopped people watching and looked where the lights directed her. It was starting."LAAAAAAADIEA AND GENNNTLEMEN!"
The obnoxious voice of a pro hero screamed. "Welcome to this years UA entrance exams!!!!"Nova held her breath. Chewing the nail on her thumb, leg bouncing up and down. This was it...No going back now.
