Legacy
Nova was taken to a room with fifteen beds lining the wall. She had a side table with drawers, a bed and a box with a chest lid to put all of her stuff in. It wasn't much and definitely wasn't comfortable. She was less than ten feet from another bed, with pink blankets and makeup spread over the table. But thankfully her other side was against the wall, so she wasn't stuck between two strangers. They had taken her uniform to clean before tomorrow, along with her other clothes. Not that Nova minded much, honestly she'd lived in worse situations.Junshi and Juvie had been worse, she wasn't even allowed to have possessions there. In Juvie she slept on a metal bed with a pillow and thin 'mattress' underneath. At Junshi she was in the barracks with fifty other girls, sharing a bunk with a stranger who refused to speak to her. This was more comfortable. But she had yet to interact with the other students much. She was side eyed a lot. But other than that no one made a move to talk to her.She laid down and ended up sleeping for hours. Waking up only when she got a text from Shoji asking if she was okay. She responded this time, she needed to get better at that. Are you alright? Aizawa said you won't be at school today. I'll send you my notes from class. She hated herself for being such a bad friend to him. Shoji was always there when she needed. Always reaching out and always concerned. And Nova feared she wasn't the same way back, she didn't know much about him. How was life since he moved to the city? Were people still mistreating him because he was a heteromorph? She didn't know, because she was too selfish to ask him. She was always distracted with herself and what she had going on.And she always kept him in the dark. He was constantly worrying about her and she never really told him what was going on. She didn't deserve a friend like him. He'd be better off without her.She typed a message back out.According to his concerned text she could assume that the class didn't know the reason behind her absence. Which was good, she didn't want them too.But she found herself... Telling Shoji anyways. Typing out the whole thing. From Karon first being missing to her being separated from Zoey and taken her after telling Aizawa about everything. Then she begged him not to tell anyone. And then she apologized for over sharing and burdening him with all of this.It took awhile for him to respond. When he did it was just as she expected. Full of support and empathy over her situation. He was concerned, but at least he wasn't in the dark anymore.I'm coming to school tomorrow though, I'll see you then okay? She sent with a small frown, curled up under a blanket.I'm glad... If you're allowed to, maybe we could spend some time after school studying in the library. It might get your mind off things, to be out of the home for a little while longer.Nova looked at the message. This was the first time he ever wanted to hang out outside of classes. Even if he had before now Nova probably wouldn't have. She couldn't stay after school because she had to pick up Zoey...But now she didn't...She didn't even think of that until now. Even though it was freeing to have that time available, it also hurt. But she couldn't say no to Shoji's kind offer. That would be nice, but I'm not sure what the rules are about that yet. I'll figure it out.Nova smiled for the first time since she got there. Thanks Shoji⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘Nova must have dozed off again. Before she was suddenly woken up hours later. Nova was suddenly doused in cold water, jerking awake immediately. She looked up and around frantically, to see there were several girls in the room now. Either watching and giggling to each other, or ignoring her all together.Infront of her, holding a water bottle was a black haired girl. Tall with purple eyes turned into a glare.Nova panted as adrenaline from the sudden awakening coursed through her veins. She tried to calm down but shivered as water dropped down her neck from her now wet hair."It's dinner time. You should be happy I woke you up." The girl said with a smug smile, setting her water bottle down on the table next to Novas before turning to walk away. "Touch my stuff and you're dead, terrorist."A few girls followed her out, while others went about their business. As though nothing was happening at all.Nova looked down at the floor, water dripping from her hair to the floor. It's not like this was the first time someone poured water on her head. In fact that seemed to be a common method of humiliation amongst bullies. It wasn't anything Nova couldn't handle. But she didn't like the future that it foreshadowed. It felt too much like middle school. She stood up when most of the other girls started to leave. Checking the time, there was about ten minutes until dinner.Maybe it was a good thing she woke her up.⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘Lunch was uneventful. Nova spent most of it trying not to be tossed around in the large group of kids. Then eating on a corner table where everyone refused to sit. Nova could see Shinsou a little ways away with a group of quieter boys. None seemed to be actually interacting, just eating. They were dismissed for chores and Nova stood up hesitantly. She was supposed to do chores too, but didn't know where Botan was. And there were too many people rushing around the dining room to see at all.She remembered what Shinsou told her, to be careful around him. it made her too nervous to seek the other boy out. Even if that's what she was instructed to do.She looked around and started to slowly inch towards one of the exits. Maybe she could take a breath in the hallway and then try to find Him. Or someone else that could help her. Or maybe Shinsou again... But as she started getting closer she was interrupted."Nice try new kid. But you're not getting away that easily."Nova looked over, body tense as she heard an unfamiliar voice awfully close to her. Two steps away was the tall brunette. His arms crossed with a slight smile.Botan
