Legacy
"Keep your eyes peeled. Although oftentimes our mere presence is enough to keep villainy at bay... There could be evil around every corner." "The most evil thing we've encountered this entire time were DAMN KINDERGARTENERS!!" Bakugou snapped."They were children! How dare you use such vulgar language." Jeanest sighed. "Could you at least attempt to hold your tongue?""I'm sick of these useless patrols. Where's the actual action?!" Bakugou clearly ignored Jeanest's request for him to hold his tongue."No good pro hero wishes for conflict. We wish things would remain peaceful for the good of Japan-""ON YOUR LEFT!!" A dark blue yelled as it quickly cut between them. Literally falling from the sky. Bakugou jumped back and got in a fighting position, while Jeanest merely tensed up."What on earth- Zel!?" Jeanest said, turning to face the intruder."Heyyyy Mr denim. What's up?!" The fellow pro greeted, Waving playfully."My name is not Mr Denim." Jeanest said through clinched teeth. Bakugou looked between the two, he recognized Zel almost immediately. She was a well known pro, Bakugou thought she was cool. Cooler than Jeanest at least. She wasn't as purely awesome as All Might, but she had a good takedown record. She was a pretty strong fighter and didn't have much hesitation."Yeah yeah whatever. It's been awhile, I see you have an intern." Zel turned to Bakugou shooting a finger gun in his direction. "Nice hair."That made him like her just a little less. His spikey hair has been basically glued down with gel by Jeanest. Who has certain opinions on how a pro hero should present themselves.Zel's own hair grew out slowly now that she wasn't using her gear. It curled as it went but Jeanest was unimpressed. "Aren't interns so fun?! I think I have a talent for teaching. I'm pretty wise you know." Zel said with a smile."You are the last person I want influencing him." Jeanest said with a sigh."Oh no I didn't mean him." Zel waved him off. "I'm talking about mine." She gave him a mischievous smirk and was rewarded with a wide eyed expression from the other pro."You have an intern?" He asked in confusion, it was well known that Zel never took on any types of protoge or sidekick. Let alone an intern or student of any kind. Jeanest didn't even realize she had the capacity for one."Yes of course!" Zel said, then slowly glanced around. "She... Should be here somewhere...""Oh dear God." Jeanest rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Who let you take an intern?""Hey we're doing fine! See? Here she is now!" Zel waved her hand back and forth in the air as she noticed her intern jogging through the streets.Nova had decided instead of risking going the wrong way with the gear she took to the streets instead. She got lots of weird looks, but the crowd seemed more curious than mad at her as she weaved through it."Zel!" Nova panted. "I'm sorry but you moved so quickly i-" She looked at the other two people and her face went red. "Bakugou?!""Kurayami?!" Bakugou said with equal surprise and anger. Though his tone almost always contained the later to some degree."Awesome! You know each other." Zel said, putting an arm around Nova's shoulder. "This is my intern Nova, but you already know that since she won the festival and all that." Zel said to Jeanest."Yes I am aware. But I did not know you were taking interns." He said in a frustrated manner."Well this is my first time, but I decided if I was going to take an intern I'd only accept the very best." Zel shrugged. Nova felt her face grow warm as Zel squeezed her shoulders. She didn't love being called the best, especially not infront of Bakugou who scoffed and looked away."Right." Jeanest said with a sigh. "It's an honor to meet you Kurayami. I observed you in the festival and you did very well.""O-oh! Thank you sir..." Nova looked away and bowed her head at the pro respectfully. Hoping Zel would decide to carry on with their patrol, she could feel Bakugou's first state on her."She sure was! So you two run into any trouble?" Zel asked, chatting with Jeanest without a care in the world. "So far me and Nova haven't seen much action.""No, the streets have been peaceful as usual. But we should continue our patrol... Just in case." The man motioned for Bakugou to follow him as he turned to walk away."Totally! Mind if we tag along? Nova here probably could use a little time on the ground." Zel parted Nova's shoulders.Although Nova wanted to get away from Bakugou, she had to admit that Zel was right. Walking after swinging around so much actually sounded quite nice.Jeanest let out a sigh. "I guess it'll be my duty to keep all three of you out of trouble." He muttered under his breath. But he didn't reject Zel's idea to continue patrolling together.Zel followed Jeanest, Nova and Bakugou glanced at each other, than followed after. Bakugou scoffed and grumbled under his breath. Though he didn't seem happy, he didn't argue like she assumed he would have.In fact now that Nova thought about it, since the festival Bakugou hadn't said a word to or about her. He didn't make any snappy comments or approach her about their match. He seemed to have almost... Calmed his feelings towards her. As though he begrudgingly respected her as a fighter and opponent.Zel continued to yap to Jeanest, who responded in simple and annoyed tones. But he seemed to be trying his best to remain polite and elegant in a way at aligned with what he thought was befitting a hero.Although he didn't say so outloud, the one person in the group he was the least peeved by was Nova. Who remained as polite as ever. Though her hair could use some work."Don't walk ahead of me." Bakugou snapped with a glare, though he was obviously trying to keep Jeanest from hearing. Nova slowed her pace to be slightly behind his, maybe he didn't respect her much after all.Nova observed Jeanest and Zel quietly. Now that she was really thinking about it, their quirks were similar in a way. Jeanest, from what Nova could remember could manipulate fiber. Like the strands in clothes and fabrics. While Zel manipulated the individual hairs from her own head. Nova could imagine there would be similarities in how to use them.Yet personality wise they didn't seem similar at all.
