Mrs Iida was almost knocked over.

All of Zoey's speed dissolved when she grabbed the woman. Wrapping her arms around her waist, tears falling onto her shirt.

"I'm sorry." She sobbed. "I didn't mean it."

Zoey?!" The woman said in shock. Hands holding the little girl's shoulders and automatically hugging her back.

She had no idea how she got here, why she was here on this normal morning. Her mind swirled with questions and immediately assumed the worst.

Was she hurt? Was she running from something? From someone? She was crying, so obviously she was upset. Was she alone? Was her sister there? Her guardian?

While Akane Iida had retired from being a pro several years ago, she still had the instincts of one. Of a Pro hero and of a mother.

"Zoey!" Takashi said, hearing the commotion from the dining room. He was followed by his pet lab and his twin. Tenya burst in from the hall, completely confused. While Tensei stared from where he'd been sitting by his mother.

Everything had been silent seconds ago.

"I'm sorry!!" Zoey cried, holding onto the sides of the woman's shirt and looking up at her.

Her eyes were wide and glistening with tears. They were completely red as well, she'd been crying for awhile. Mrs Iida pushed her away enough to kneel down to her height.

"Shh it's okay, what's going on Zoey? How'd you get here?" She asked gently, pushing the tangled golden hair out of her face.

Zoey sniffled and rubbed her nose. "I ran..." She said, voice shaking.

"From your house? Why? That's way too far to go all by yourself." Akane said, holding her shoulders. "What happened? Did something scare you? It's alright, you can tell me."

"No, no I did something bad and now everything is wrong because of me!" Zoey said, she was panting. Either form running or crying or just overall distress. "I'm sorry! I don't mean to be bad!"

"Shhh it's okay, you're not bad." The mother hushed gently. Zoey gripped onto her. The mother's loving words and embrace only served to make Zoey feel worse. She was being so nice, surely she'd hate her after this.

"I am! I am bad!" Zoey shook her head and pulled away. Tears running down her cute red cheeks. "I do bad things! All the time! And i-i- can't stop it! I'm sorry!"

The mother patiently knelt by the little girl. Deciding it would be better to let her talk out how she was feeling. Instead of asking pressing questions.

"I want to be better! I don't want Nova to get in trouble for me again!" Zoey cried, digging into the pocket of her pajama pants. "Here! I'm sorry I took it, I didn't mean to. I don't know why I did it!"

Zoey shoved the keys into Akane's hands. As soon as she did all of the pieces started to snap together in her mind. Why Zoey was here, why she said she did bad things.

But it still didn't make much sense...

"Please don't get Nova in trouble!! I know you don't like her because of her daddy a-and that she reminds people of bad things! But Nova is good.. n-nova is the good one! Not me! B-but- everyone likes me more than her! I don't know why..." Zoey cried, hugging Mrs Iida.

Her face turned red, stammering a denial. "I-I- don't not like her-"

"Nova is a hero! I love Nova a-and she takes care of me. I don't want her to go to jail again because of me!" Zoey's words were just a waterfall of pent up emotions now. Emotions too big for a little girl like her to bare. "It was me who stole the necklaces from our neighbor!!! I saw them and I climbed through the window and took them! Nova got arrested because of me! Her life is already so hard and I just keep making everything worse! She hates me now! I know she hates me... I'm a villain."

Other than Zoey's crying and babbling the room was quiet. The twins, who had been excited to see their friend now hovered nervously by the door. They hadn't even heard about the keys, so they didn't understand what was going on.

Tensei moved his wheelchair closer, mouth pressed into a thin sympathetic line. He looked at the little girl with pity, but also appeared to be thinking through the situation carefully.

And Tenya stood at the door in horror. This confession, this reaction, this little girl running all this way by herself through the streets...

Was his fault.

"Shh it's okay. You're not a villain Zoey." Mrs Iida soothed, pulling the little girl into her arms. "Thank you for telling me and apologizing. You and Nova aren't going to get in trouble. Okay?"

"B-but- Tenya said the police would get her." Zoey whimpered, looking up at her with big eyes.

"...He did?" Mrs Iida said, giving her son a stern glance.

Zoey nodded with another sniffle. "He made Nova cry."

His mother closed her eyes tightly in a grimace. Not saying anything, but Tensei shot him a displeased look.

"They told you to let them handle it." The older brother whispered. Tenya looked down in shame.

They had been all wrong? He had been so mad, at Nova. He had said horrible things to her, how she shouldn't have trusted her. How she couldn't be her friend or associate with her. How he was a fool for believing he could...

He sure was a fool.

But not because he trusted her. Not because he was swayed by her very real innocence and heroics.

Because he never believed in her.

Because he never ACTUALLY trusted her.

He was in her debt, and now on top of owing her his life he also owed her a thousand apologies. She wasn't a villain. She wasn't to blame.

Zoey was.

But even being mad at her was impossible at this point. Not while she was sobbing into his mother's arms and rapidly apologizing.

"I'm sorry, that must have upset both of you." Mrs Iida said, hugging Zoey. She herself had to take several deep breaths to calm herself. This definitely wasn't what she had planned for the morning. Now time was ticking by, the twins were almost late for school. So was Zoey, but she didn't even have her uniform on.

"Mhm, Nova's mad at me now... And I deserve it... I don't think she'll ever love me again." Zoey rubbed her eyes, her tears slowly stopping.

"I'm sure that's not true." Akane pushed Zoey's hair behind her ear again. It definitely needed a good brushing, half of it was still in the hair tie from yesterday's braid. "Are you hungry Zoey? Do you want some cereal before we find out how to get you home?"

Zoey slowly nodded. Looking down as the family dog walked over and started to sniff her hand. Takashi walked over slowly too, hugging Zoey when his mother stopped. "It's okay Zoey."

Things started to quiet again, and while it definitely wasn't a normal morning... It was calmer again.

Until the door burst open a second time.

Zoey making it all that way on her own was unlikely, but she proved capable.

Nova making it all that way in her condition should have been impossible.

But she made it.

She threw up once and fell three times before she finally made it. Bolting into the home, leaving the door wide open behind her. She kept her shoes on as well, not thinking about anything other than Zoey.

Please be safe.

She heard a voice or two from the family room down the hall. Running on autopilot. She stumbled and braced herself on the wall before finishing her long journey to the Iidas.

Unlike last time she was here, Nova didn't care if she made a mess or upset the family. She didn't care if Miss Iida got mad or it Mr Iida showed up and chased her off with a pitchfork. As long as Zoey was okay... Nova could be too.

She slammed open the door. Heart pounding, Tenya yelped in surprise and every eye was on her.

Including two bright blue eyes, filled with tears. Zoey.

Nova let out a breath of relief. "Oh thank God...." She whispered, closing her eyes. She felt dizzy and disoriented. But at least Zoey was alive and well. Being hugged tightly by her little friend.

"Nova!!" Zoey cried out, pushing Takashi away from her with a sudden smile. "You come for me?!"

"Of course I..." She panted softly, rubbing her eyes. "Of course I did."

She stumbled slightly, everything was spinning. She tried to adjust her footing but couldn't, looking at Zoey. For a second it looked like there were two of her. Two Zoey's and two sets of Iida twins.

Then it went dark.

Nova collapsed.

Tenya stumbled in shock and caught her before she could crumble into the floor.

Zoey screamed.

The twins rushed to comfort her.

Mrs Iida ran forward.

Tensei looked on in helpless shock....

And Taro Iida walked in through the door.

"What in God's name is going on in here?!" The man asked, looking around. He came home to an open door and the screams of a little girl he had literally never met before.

Now he saw his panicking family, a little blonde child crying and his middle son holding up an unconscious red head with a helpless and confused look in his face. Like he was waiting for instruction on what to do now.

There was a few seconds of silence after the father's question. Then the crying girl spoke up in a sob.

"I killed my sisterrrrrr!!"
